Fabulous, fabulous read! When I first saw "crime", my heart sunk as I'm not a fan of crime novels, but what a story. I stayed gripped from the first line to the end and I cannot wait to read the remainder.

From the outset, I want to say that this was great - fast paced, punchy, exactly what is says on the tin. which set the scene beautifully for the following action. As for Delaney, what's not to love? He's Irish-American, big, fast, fit, smart, honourable, good in bed, a trained killer, and he loved his wife.
Lucy Harris
This is as good as anything I've read by Thomas Harris or Michael Crichton. It takes a familiar genre and gives it a totally new twist with a main character who is like Jack Reacher with a mystical and philosophical side - Mike Delaney is just unputdownable.

I loved the complexity of Delaney's character and the very convincing relationship between him and Bob. I got more and more involved as the story progressed and loved Lucius Gynt. I found this a very rare sample of a 'male' crime-mystery murder story that pays equal homage to the 'feminine' in the protagonists.
